Temilade Oyeniyi, a Nigerian singing sensation better known as Tems, has become the first female Nigerian Afrobeats artiste to win an award at the just concluded BET Awards.
Tems won two awards at the award event which was held on Sunday, June 26th. She became the first female Nigerian artiste to win the Best International Act when she beat Fireboy, Dave, Major League, and others to clinch the award.
The singer also won the award for Best Collaboration from Wizkid’s song “Essence” which features her and Justin Bierber
The 27-year-old singer made history as the first female singer to reach number one on the Hot 100 chart. She joins Wizkid who achieved the great feat in 2016.
