Written by Ade

Fans of the Big Brother Naija Season 6 reality show, the Shine Ya Eye Edition, across Africa and Europe are now in a frenzy as the reality show comes to an end on Sunday, October 3, 2021.                                         On that day, the audience will know which of the remaining six final housemates will walk out of the Big Brother House 72 days after the reality show started.                                                                                                            The winner of the sixth edition of the Big Brother Naija TV Show is between the last six housemates standing: Whitemoney, Liquorose, Pere, Cross, Angel and Emmanuel, out of the 26 housemates that participated in this year’s edition.

The journey to the grand finale for these six lucky Nigerians has been with some twists and turns, with luck and the votes and supports of the fans outside the Biggie House propelling them forward in their quest for the ultimate prize.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The first leg of the journey was outside the BB House when Multichoice , the producers of the show, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, held a virtual audition to select contestants for the show from 3 May 2021 to 16 May 2021. Each interested contestant recorded and submitted a two-minute video stating why he/she should appear on the show.

At the end of the show, 26 Housemates finally participated in the show which kicked off on July 24, 2021, with the introduction of 12 male housemates while another 11 female housemates were introduced the next day, July 25. Later three other housemates (JMK, Queen and Michael) were introduced on Day 14 of the show. Out of the 26 housemates, two: Maria and Pere were wildcards and the intention was for the other housemates to found them out within two weeks for eviction. Failure of which they will continue on the show and compete for the grand prize.                                                                                                         With the failure to smell out the wildcards, the shows went on to the real evictions on the second week. Evicted in week two were: Yerimene Abraham “Yerins” Saibakumo, a 27-year-old Medical Doctor from Bayelsa state, Adeniyi “Niyi” Lawai, a 33-year-old Computer Engineer from Oyo State and Beatrice Agba Nwaji, a 28-year-old Fashion model/ up-and-coming actress from Rivers State. At the end of week three, Arinola “Arin” Olowoporoku, a 29-year-old Fashion designer, independent arts and culture curator from Ondo  State; and Princess Francis, a 30-year-old Service driver, based in the Federal Capital Territory were evicted. Later on Gbolahan “Kayvee” Ololade, a 26-year old Photographer from Ogun State voluntarily walked out of the show on Day 22.

After week 5 Jumoke Zainab “JMK” Adedoyin, a 23-year-old Law graduate from Kwara State; Samuel Jacob “Sammie” Alifa, a 26-year-old Amateur filmmaker and student from Kaduna State and Maria Chike Agueze, a former air hostess from Imo State were evicted from the show.

The end of week 6 saw four housemates evicted in a king-size eviction show. They were: Tega Dominic, a 29-year-old aspiring actress from Cross River State;  Peace Ogor, a 26-year-old business person from Rivers State; Boma Akpore, 34-year-old film personnel from Delta State; and Michael Chukwuebuka Ngene, a 28-year-old Musician and aspiring filmmaker based in Abuja.

Jackie “Jackie B” Bent, a  29-year-old Interior designer from Adamawa State and Paul “Jaypaul” Ephraim, a 29-year-old Musician/ actor from Cross River were evicted after Week 7.

The eviction show on Week 8 saw the Northern duo of Tsakute “Saskay” Jonah, a 21-tear-old Fine artist/ model Adamawa State; and Yusuf “Yousef” Garba, a 29-year-old  Secondary school teacher from Plateau State evicted.

Anita “Nini” Singh, a 27-year-old Fashion entrepreneur from Edo State and Adeoluwa “Saga” Okusaga, a 28-year-old Engineer from Ogun State were evicted from the show alongside Queen Mercy Atang, a 26-year-old aspiring politician from Akwa Ibom.                                                                                                          Then the twist started as Biggie had two housemates who were involved in fake evictions that day: Pere and angel placed in the ‘whiteroom’ to battle in a game of ‘screws and trucks’ for the fifth place in the grand finale to join Whitemoney, Liquorose, Emmanuel and Cross. But following outcries and public protests, the producers rescinded this decision and allow both housemates to compete in the final week:                                                                                                                                                        So in the final are Angel Agnes Smith, a 21-year-old aspiring writer from Akwa Ibom; Pere Egbi, a 35-year-old ex-soldier from Delta State; Ikechukwu Sunday “Cross” Okonkwo, a 30-year-old business person from Anambra State; Emmanuel Umoh, a 24-year-old Model from Akwa Ibom; Roseline Omokhoa “Liquorose” Afije, a 26year-old professional dancer from Edo State; and Hazel Oyeze “Whitemoney” Onou, a 29-year-old Businessman from Imo State.                                                                                                                                                                   The winner on Sunday will join the esteemed list of past winners of the BBN shows. These

Cross’ prediction

2nd place – Liquorose

3rd place – Whitemoney

4th place – Angel

5th place – Pere
