Senate reveals Tinubu’s first ministerial nominees as Wike, Umahi, El-Rufai, Alake, make the list

The Senate received the long-awaited ministerial list from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday.

The list was through a letter delivered by Femi Gbajiabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President  Tinubu, at about 1.20 pm.

The letter addressed to Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, contained 28 names, representing 28 states across the six geo-political zones.

The names include former governors (Ebonyi, Katsina, Katsina and Rivers); former commissioners, economists, medical practitioners and other professionals. The names include seven women

Below is a breakdown of the nominees according to the geopolitical zones:

North-East

Yusuf Maitama Tuggar – Bauchi

Ali Pate –Bauchi

Abubakar Kyari – Borno

Sani Abubakar Danladi – Taraba

North-West

Badaru Abubakar – Jigawa

Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai – Kaduna

Ahmed Dangiwa – Katsina

Hannatu Musawa – Katsina

Bello Muhammad Goronyo – Sokoto

North Central

Lateef Fagbemi – Kwara

Muhammad Idris – Niger

Iman Suleiman Ibrahim – Nasarawa

Joseph Utsev – Benue

 

South-West

Olubunmi Tunji Ojo – Ondo

Dele Alake – Ekiti

Olawale Edun – Ogun

Waheed Adebayo Adelabu – Oyo

Nyesom Wike – Rivers
