Police in Lagos quell street violence, arrest two

The Lagos State Police Command has quelled a bloody street fight at the Ajegunle area of the state over the weekend. Two suspects were arrested.
The street fight was said to have broken out between boys from Aroworade and Olaleye streets on Friday evening spreading into many streets in the area, causing panic among residents.
Videos of the fight, which surfaced on the social media, showed the thugs, armed with bottles, sticks and other dangerous weapons, attacking warring factions.
However, the hoodlums took to their heels when they saw police patrol vehicles advancing, they the policemen succeded in arresting two of them, Quadri Yekini, 32 and James Segun, 22.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Command Spokesman, said the arrested suspects would be charged to court. He said the Police has stationed its patrol vans in the area to ensure peace in the area.
