Police arrest Lagos man blackmailing, spreading ex-lovers’ nude photos

The Lagos Police Command has arrested a Lagos-based businessman, Amara Kennedy, who allegedly blackmailed and shared nude pictures of some of his former lovers online.
Kennedy was accused of circulating unclad photos of more than three of his former lovers nude pictures after blackmailing them and also vowed to destroy their reputation
One of the victims, identified as Kester, disclosed his arrest to newsmen on Friday.
Punch Newspapers, who led the investigations into the matters, had earlier reported that Kennedy promised to stop circulating the pictures if the newspapers stopped running its investigations.
Also, it reported that his family members condemned the action of the former bank worker said to be currently unemployed.
One of them is Kennedy’s elder sister, Ebere who lives abroad. She said Kennedy had disgraced the family while urging the law enforcement agencies to track him down and arrest him.
“I am a woman myself; if somebody did that to me, I would also be traumatised because my kids would grow up to see that. Taking the screenshot and sending it to him was to tell him I wanted him arrested since he wanted to be stupid and act like someone that is not human. I told the lady that if she needed money, I would send it to her to get him arrested,” Ebere told Punch.
Ebere said she stopped talking to Kennedy a long time ago and had blocked him on all social media platforms “because he keeps bringing a bad image to the family; I don’t want to be associated with him.” She disclosed that shortly after she learnt of his blackmailing activities, she disowned him publicly.
44-year-old Kennedy was said to have met some of his victims on social media platforms at different times and later had affairs with them after promising them marriage and showering gifts on them.
However, after the affairs turned sour he shared their nude photos with them and demanded money with threats to make the images go viral. But despite collecting various sums of money from them he posted the pictures on Facebook and some WhatsApp groups, as well as to their friends and family members.
