Manchester City breaks ECL jinx wins treble for the season

 

Manchester City has broken the jinx that has long held the team back from winning the converted UEFA Champions League title. The team this evening defeated Inter Milan at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey to win a treble for the 2022/23 season. The team had earlier won the English Premiership title and the English FA Cup.

The Pep Guardiola’s side became the second English team to achieve a treble after its city’s rival, Manchester United which did it in 1999.

In the final ECL match in Turkey, Rodri’s 68th-minute goal was enough to win the Manchester side the trophy.

The match was a bit difficult for the English side as the Italian put up a spirited defence a nd brilliant plays throughout the game.

Manchester City suffered a blow in the first half when Kevin De Bruyne was carried off the field with an injury.

City in the second half had to do some serious defending as the Inter side struggled for a goal that never came.

The treble is the third for coach Guardiola as he achieved two while with Barcelona
