Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Benue State has been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the winner of the March 18 poll and the Governor-Elect of the state.
The Catholic priest scored a total of 473,933 votes to come first ahead of his closest rival Titus Uba, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prof Faruq Kuta, the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna declared Alia the winner.
