The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ahmed Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the governorship election in Sokoto State. He won a total of 453,661 votes to beat other contestants in the election.
His closest rival, Umar Saidu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 404,632 votes.
